Admitted and participated in a highly selective writing program involving intensive daily multi-genre writing workshops. Developed creative writing skills and collaborated with diverse peers and established authors. Focused on continued development of critical analysis skills through peer review and produced original works for public presentation.
Read, analyzed and discussed memoir writing by current and former UPenn Creative Writing Program faculty and Kelly Writers’ House, including Beth Kephart, Lorene Cary, Paul Hendrickson, Carmen Maria Machado and Kenneth Goldsmith. Collaborated with diverse students, exploring different formats and themes of memoir writing.
Read, analyzed, and discussed the teachings of philosophers such as Sartre, Dao, Al-Ghazali, and Plato. Created and performed a scripted mock debate between Sartre and Al-Ghazali on the topic of free will vs. pre-determined destiny.
